FA Cup finalists Arsenal become first Premier League club to launch Amazon Alexa skill

Emirates Stadium (Arsenal) + Amazon EchoArsenal football club has launched an Amazon Alexa Skill, making it the first Premier League club to do so. The skill enables fans to live stream audio commentary of matches through their Amazon Echo devices.

Developed by digital agency AKQA, the Arsenal skill provides fans in both the UK and the US with access to pre-match build-up, line-ups, live commentary, score updates, and post-match analysis. Furthermore, fans are also able to access club information on non-matchdays.

“It is fantastic to be able to offer our supporters another digital channel to access all the club news,” said Charles Allen, head of marketing at Arsenal. “It is an easy, efficient and innovative way for fans with Alexa devices, such as Amazon Echo, to keep up with the team and bring the match day action to their homes.”

The skill, available to all supporters in the UK and the US, can be enabled via the skills section of the Amazon Alexa app. It is also available on Fire TV and will eventually be introduced to more non-Amazon devices.

“Arsenal have always been a club about the future and bringing the Arsenal fan experience to new platforms,” said Sam Kelly, managing director at AKQA. “The Arsenal Alexa Skill demonstrates their investment and commitment to innovation for their fans, allowing them to live stream every game to the Amazon Echo platform.”
