Land Rover has teamed up with four-time Olympic champion sailor Sir Ben Ainslie, and his America’s Cup team, to produce a VR film ahead of the sailing competition.

The experience, made in collaboration with cinematic VR company Jaunt, enables users to join Ben Ainslie’s team in Bermuda during their final preparations, as they get set to compete for the oldest international sporting trophy.

In ‘Above and Beyond’, fans get to witness a gym session, become immersed in water as the racing yacht flies above them, and get driven around by Ainslie himself in a Land Rover Discovery.

“We constantly strive to create stand-out experiences for our customers through our partnerships, and by using Jaunt’s cutting edge VR technology, we are able to give the user unprecedented access to the team and America’s Cup Sailing in a thrilling first-hand experience,” said Mark Cameron, experiential marketing director at Jaguar Land Rover.

The VR experience is available to download via the Jaunt VR app, which is compatible with Android, iOS, Gear VR, PlayStation VR, Google Daydream, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and major desktop browsers. In addition, fans will get to try out the experience in Bermuda, at the Land Rover BAR (Ben Ainslie Racing) base in Portsmouth, and at roadshow events around the UK.
