Mobile Commerce Now 18 Per Cent of Argos Sales

Ahead of its full-year results, Home Retail Group has announced in its end-of-year statement that transactions on mobile now make up 18 per cent of total sales at Argos.
Home Retail Group has made a huge investment in Argos’ future success, partnering with eBay and Buyapowa, trialing Blippar and NFC, and launching its own tablet. Mobile has grown from eight per cent of sales in the year to March 2013 to reach 18 per cent today.
For the full year to 1 March 2014, sales at Argos rose by 3 per cent to £4bn. Sales at Homebase sales grew by 4.1 per cent to £1.5bn. Home Retail Group says it expects profit before tax to exceed market expectations, reaching around £107m to £111m.
