Europe division lead at Clear Channel handed to Cochrane
Justin Cochrane has been appointed CEO of Europe at out-of-home advertising firm Clear Channel. As head of the newly created unit, he will have overall responsibility for Europe’s overarching vision, mission and strategy.

Cochrane has been at Clear Channel for 19 years – most recently serving as UK CEO and regional VP for the UK & Ireland. The new role will see him continue to directly oversee the UK & Ireland businesses.

“With the establishment of a European region, we will be better positioned to harness the power of technology and accelerate our digital transformation,” said Cochrane. “Outdoor is consistently outgrowing all other traditional advertising media, driven heavily by digital OOH, and this new structure gives us a strong platform to innovate and maintain our position as an industry leader. I am very much looking forward to taking on this new role and leading a great international team across our European markets.”

As a result of Cochrane’s expanded role, a number of other changes have been made within the company’s UK leadership.

Chief revenue officer Richard Bon and chief investment officer Will Ramage have been appointed joint managing directors, while chief commercial officer Chris Pelekanou has extended his remit to include Europe-wide customer engagement and marketing director Martin Coke has been promoted to chief marketing officer. All four will report to Cochrane.

The new company’s new international business structure of having four operating regions – Europe, Latin America, China, and the US and Caribbean – has seen one other change.

Aris De Juan, formerly regional president for Latin America and Southern Europe, has been confirmed as president of the Latin America region. Scott Wells, CEO for Clear Channel Outdoor Americas, and Joseph Tcheng, chairman of Clear Media, will continue to hold their current positions.
