Apple Shoots 30th Birthday Video on iPhones in 24 hours

Apple filmApple has created a video to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the launch of its Macintosh computers shot exclusively on the iPhone 5S over the course of a day.

Outlining its mission to put technology in the hands of the people, the video shows the growing number of situations where its tech is being used, including by archaeologists, biology students and extreme sports enthusiasts.

The video was secretly shot in 10 different countries on the Macs birthday, 24 January, from Melbourne to Los Angeles. After editing down the 70 hours of footage, Apple debuted the video on its website and is letting its fans do the talking. “Thanks to the power of the Mac and the innovations it has inspired, an effort that normally takes months was accomplished in a matter of days,” Apple said.

Rival Microsoft created a not unsimilar video, demonstrating what tech can do, but opted to launch its version – more traditionally – during the fourth quarter of the Superbowl, thus paying millions for prime placement during an underwhelming game.
