Capitol One Unveils Apple Pay-supported Mobile Wallet

capitol one appCredit card company Capitol One has released a new mobile wallet app for its cardholders designed to work with Apples upcoming mobile payment platform.

The Capital One Wallet app, which was soft launched on iOS in September, will enable users to access detailed information on their Apple Pay transactions and balance rewards, as well as including real-time purchase notifications.

The transaction information, which business names, locations and contact information, should aid in consumers identifying and reporting any fraudulent charges made using the app, or through the Apple Pay platform.

The app uses a feature called SureSwipe, similar to the log-in pattern-making gestures familiar to many Android users, to ensure security, rather than relying on PINs or Apples TouchID.

“Working with Apple, were excited to bring Apple Pay to tens of millions of Capital One customers,” said Frank LaPrade, chief enterprise services officer for Capital One Financial Corporation. “We are laser-focused on the evolution of digital products and services. Our goal is to provide our customers with payment options that help them succeed and simplify their lives.”
