Microsoft has rolled out a host of new AI and mixed reality apps within its Dynamics 365 suite of enterprise resource planning and customer relationship management apps – as it looks to go head-to-head with Salesforce.

Within the Dynamics 365 AI class of apps, Microsoft has introduced Dynamics 365 AI for Sales, Dynamics 365 AI for Customer Service, and Dynamics 365 AI for Market Insights.

AI for Sales aims to help salespeople prioritise their time and deliver insights into the performance of sales teams and any deals logged. Meanwhile, AI for Customer Service surfaces automated insights, highlighting the issues agents face, and utilise chatbots to help. And, finally, AI for Market Insights is aimed at helping marketing teams make better decisions by providing web and social insights

Alongside the AI apps, Microsoft introduced its first mixed reality business apps for the HoloLens in the form of Dynamics 365 Remote Assist and Dynamics 365 Layout.

With Remote Assist, teams back in the office – or elsewhere – are able to collaborate with their colleague wearing a HoloLens out in the field, helping them to solve tasks while seeing the exact same thing they are seeing. Meanwhile, Layout enables designers to create a 3D representation of what a space would look like before committing to buying and placing items there.

“Two years ago, when we introduced Dynamics 365 we started a journey to tear down the traditional silos of customer relationship management (CRM) and enterprise resource planning (ERP). We set out to reimagine business applications as modern, unified, intelligent and adaptable solutions that are integrated with Office 365 and natively built on Microsoft Azure,” said Alysa Taylor, corporate vice president of business applications & industry at Microsoft, in a blog post.
